PICOLER Wine Bar – Interior Graffiti Project
작업 개요
수원 인계동에 위치한 와인바 피콜레(PICOLER)의 실내 공간을 대상으로 진행한 그래피티 프로젝트이다. 본 작업은 기존의 정돈된 인테리어 구조 위에 스트릿 그래피티 특유의 레이어와 질감을 더해, 공간의 성격을 보다 명확하게 드러내는 것을 목표로 했다. 상업 공간으로서의 기능을 해치지 않으면서도, 장소 자체가 하나의 장면으로 인식되도록 구성했다.
This project is an interior graffiti installation for PICOLER Wine Bar in Ingye-dong, Suwon. The work introduces the layered textures and visual language of street graffiti into an already refined commercial interior, aiming to redefine the identity of the space without disrupting its function.
배경 & 컨셉
의뢰는 클라이언트가 인스타그램을 통해 그래피티 작업을 접하며 시작되었다. 피콜레는 완성도 높은 와인바였지만, 주변의 유사한 공간들과 비교했을 때 시각적으로 구분되는 강한 인상이 필요했다. 본 프로젝트의 핵심 컨셉은 ‘정리된 스트릿 감성’이었다. 뒷골목의 거칠고 자유로운 에너지를 실내로 끌어오되, 무작위적인 낙서가 아닌 의도적으로 구성된 레이어로 풀어내는 데 초점을 맞췄다.

The core concept was “organized street energy”—bringing the raw atmosphere of back alleys indoors through deliberate, controlled graffiti layers rather than chaotic tagging.

작업 과정
작업은 길게 뻗은 홀 구조와 높은 천장을 고려해 벽면의 흐름을 먼저 설정한 후 진행되었다. 큰 레이어를 먼저 구성하고, 그 위에 태그와 레터, 드로잉을 단계적으로 쌓아 올리는 방식으로 완성도를 높였다. 벽 중간에 위치한 와인 진열장과 파이프, 저장 공간은 사전 보양 후 작업을 진행해, 그래피티가 공간을 침범하지 않고 자연스럽게 감싸도록 조율했다.
The process began by defining the visual flow of the long walls and high ceiling. Large base layers were established first, followed by tags, lettering, and graphic elements added in stages. Existing structures such as wine displays, pipes, and storage units were carefully protected and integrated, allowing the graffiti to coexist with the architecture rather than overpower it.
기술 / 공간 포인트
전 작업은 스프레이 그래피티 기법으로 진행되었으며, 기술적 난이도보다는 밀도 조절과 시각적 균형이 핵심이었다. 여러 요소가 겹쳐져 있음에도 벽면이 과도하게 혼잡해 보이지 않도록 색상 대비와 간격을 세밀하게 조정했다. 스트릿 특유의 거친 인상을 유지하면서도, 실내 공간에 어울리는 정제된 리듬을 만들어내는 데 집중했다.
All elements were executed using spray-based graffiti techniques. Rather than technical complexity, the focus was on density control and visual balance. Color contrast and spacing were carefully adjusted to prevent visual overload, achieving a refined rhythm while preserving the raw character of street graffiti.
결과 & 활용 맥락
완성된 공간은 스트릿 그래피티의 에너지를 유지하면서도, 와인바라는 장소의 성격과 자연스럽게 결합된 장면을 만들어낸다. 이 프로젝트는 상업 공간에서 그래피티가 단순한 장식이 아닌, 공간의 정체성을 형성하는 하나의 언어로 작동할 수 있음을 보여준다. 본 작업은 공간 기록 영상, 아카이브 자료, 그리고 향후 유사 프로젝트를 위한 레퍼런스로 활용되고 있다.
